  1. Round 16 and 17 Review

Amorim surely will be Amorout after a loss at home to ten man Everton; Arne Slot is more like Arne Lost as Liverpool can’t breach the Sean Dyche at Anfield; and Leeds must be getting close to telling Daniel to Farke off as they go down at home to a resurgent Villa.

    Honors even…except where they weren’t

Most of our match ups in this week’s double header games saw the points shared but three teams came out on top.

    Thanksgiving cancelled in Houston….

In Division 2, Grater Than You FC finally delivered on their names promise as they were the only team in Division 2 to win both games and collect all 6 points. Their opponents were Texas Tumbleweeds who fell 5 places in the league and who will be replacing Turkey at Thanksgiving with a Turkey Trot round the training ground.

    Heycroft taught lesson… (NB it’s a school)

In Division 1, it was HeyCroft03 FC who were schooled in the art of Football as AFC Dave delivered a 6 point masterclass and swapped places in the league with their opponents.

Shut the FACup FC silence doubters….

Shut the FaCup FC collected 4 points against Dads Favourite Son and their top score of 8 goals for the weekend, propelled them to the top of the Hasina Championship.

  2. Sunderland Spoil Prediction Clean Sweep

Round 15 was the 4th highest scoring round so far, with our favourite prediction for each game being correct, except for Sunderland v Arsenal. Sunderland’s shock season continues and their draw against top of the table Arsenal was only predicted by Wythenshawe Warriors AFC. However, that proved to be only a consolation goal as they went down 4-3 at home against Texas Tumbleweeds.

Top 3 gap narrows, gulf to bottom widens…

Division 1 Leaders Danchester City lose 4-2 at home to 3rd placed Getthatbusout FC and now only have a 1 point cushion at the top from both their opponents and 2nd placed Derby Cockney Rams FC. DCR were the Round’s top scorers as they swept past bottom side Goodwin Wanderers 5-2.

Bayern Back to top as Leaf’s stumble

Bayern Neverlosen return to the top of Division 2, with a 3-1 home win over BullsEye United. Previous leaders Leaf over Bolts United were held 2-2 at home by Bumfun FC in the Inter-Division clash.

    Pick any 2 from 6..

It’s a lottery for the remaining 2 promotion spots in Division 2 as there is only one point separating 3rd and 8th place in Division 2. Every point between now and the end of the season will be vital as teams hunt the jackpot of a top 4 finish.

  3. Round 13/14 Double Header

Hammers deal blow to Newcastle, United lose way in Forest and Spurs feeling blue…

Most games went as the majority of us predicted but West Hams 2nd win of the season, United’s draw at Forest and Tottenham’s defeat at home to Chelsea bucked that trend. Most of us even managed to predict Liverpool’s first win since records began.

    Heycroft03 FC outshoot Gunners…

Heycroft03 FC were the only team to take full advantage of a double header weekend as they win 3-2 twice at home and away against Gunners. The wins move them up 4 places out of the relegation zone to 7th and above their opponents who slide 3 places to 8th.

It’s Status Quo at the top of the Charts….

It had all the signs of being a decisive weekend at the top of Division 1, as 1st met 2nd and 3rd met 4th, but 4 home wins later and its a stalemate that probably only puts a smile on Danchester City’s face, as they keep their 4 point lead at the top.

and Status Quo at the bottom of the Charts….

The inter-Division match paired two teams rooted at the bottom of their respective Divisions and they desperately tried to underscore each other as they fought out two 1-1 draws which, to borrow a classic cliche, did neither of them any favours!

    Leafs uber Alles?….

Leafs over Bolts United started the weekend in 3rd place in Division 2, but thanks to picking up 4 points against 2nd placed Wythenshawe Warriors they have knocked Bayern Neverlosen from top spot in Division 2 for the first time since Round 4.

The once undefeatable Bayern only picked up one point in the double header and also suffered the biggest loss of the weekend; 5-1 away at Claret and Booze!

It’s 6 games undefeated now for Leafs over Bolts United and the question is are the Leafs evergreen or will they fall down before the Winter season ends?

  4. Round 13 and 14 Preview

Out of 26 BHPL games this weekend, there is only one game where we matched predictions as Shut the FACup FC can only hope for a point at Bumfun FC!

In Round 13, Spurs v Chelsea and Palace v Brentford are where the match deciding goals will be scored.

In Round 14, we have 5 games where the favourite selection is in the 60-70% range so should be an exciting round as plenty of uncertainty about the results.

In the bonus home game most people went for City, but it’s been a long time since they would have faced a Bournemouth side above them in the table!

  5. Round 12 Review

City and Chelsea defeats keep scores low…

Nobody had Sunderland beating Chelsea and only Goodwin Wanderers and Stickylemon FC had predicted a Villa win over City. Bottom of Division 1 side, Goodwin Wanderers, top scored this week with 5 goals and close the gap on 2nd bottom Stickylemon FC, who despite predicting Villa’s win, still came unstuck as they lost 3-2 at Getthatbusout FC.

    Stable table….

In Division 1, no changes in the top 5 as the top 3 sides all win and 4th and 5th draw with each other.

In Division 2, top side Bayern Neverlosen lose 4-1 to Leafs over Bolts United who climb 4 spots to go 3rd but 2nd side Wythenshawe Warriors AFC draw 2-2 at Grater than You FC and stay 2nd.

    Crucial Halfway games…

As we reach the halfway point of the Winter Season, we have another double header weekend where the same sides meet home and away!

In Division 1 the top 2 Danchester City and Derby Cockney Rams FC meet home and away….title decider???

In Division 2 2nd placed Wythenshawe Warriors AFC play twice against 3rd placed Leaf over Bolts United.

  6. Round 12 Review

City and Chelsea defeats keep scores low…

Nobody thought Sunderland would beat Chelsea and only Goodwin Wanderers and Stickylemon FC had predicted a Villa win over City.

Bottom of Division 1 side, Goodwin Wanderers, top scored this week with 5 goals and wander ever closer to 2nd bottom Stickylemon FC, who despite predicting Villa’s win, still came unstuck 3-2 at Getthatbusout FC.

    Stable table….

In Division 1, no changes in the top 5 as the top 3 sides all win and 4th and 5th draw with each other. Danchester City maintain a very healthy 4 point lead at the top.

In Division 2, top side Bayern Neverlosen stay top despite their heavy 4-1 loss to Leafs over Bolts United who climb 4 spots to go 3rd. 2nd placed side Wythenshawe Warriors AFC draw 2-2 at Grater than You FC and stay 2nd.

    Crucial Halfway games…

As we reach the halfway point of the Winter Season, we have another double header weekend where the same sides meet home and away!

In Division 1 the top 2 Danchester City and Derby Cockney Rams FC meet home and away….title deciding games???

In Division 2 2nd placed Wythenshawe Warriors AFC play twice against 3rd placed Leaf over Bolts United.

  7. Review of Round 10 & 11

    United we fall…

Nobody predicted the Man U upset at Liverpool so it was a definitely a week where we should have left Liverpool to walk alone. The most depressing thing is that the guy on TikTok who is “not cutting my hair until Man United win 5 games in a row” is now looking good to get there, with 2 down and 3 easier games left. I really want to see how big his hair gets (he is already over 1 year of not cutting it).

With no Home Team scoring from their bonus fixture it was a good week to be an Away team and of course, as it was a Double Header weekend, we were all an Away team once! In the end there were 10 Home wins, 6 away wins and 10 draws, so maybe the advantage of being home goes beyond the bonus home fixture…who knows/cares 🙂

    Division 2 delivers a hat-trick of Maximum Points….

In Division 1, nobody managed to win at home and away, but there was a hat-trick of sides who achieved it in Division 2. Samchester United struck gold twice against BullsEye United; Withington were certainly “with-it-son” as they won two times against Claret and Booze; and Frankie & Beans proved twice that they were greater than Grater than You FC.

Mixed Fortunes in Double Header games….

Round 10 proved tricky as Spurs and Palace joined Liverpool in not winning and whilst a creditable 3 goals top scored, 1 goal was the most common outcome!

By contrast, despite the Liverpool defeat, Round 11 delivered a new record goal haul of 100 goals and congratulations to Gunners, Withington, Samchester United and Leafs over Bolts United who scored 5 goals.

  8. A lot of obvious favourites in Round 10 and Round 11 games but just enough variation to make some crucial games:

Round 10 – Key games are Brighton v Newcastle and Burnley v Leeds

Round 11 – Key game is West Ham v Brentford

Review your own game though because occasionally there are other key games

  9. Ok – So I’m heading out this afternoon and therefore today’s results round up is written by Co-pilot….I didn’t tell it anything other than to read the tables and results plus to look at what I had posted in the past….Its not bad!!!

    Round 9 — Headline

Claret and Booze nick the local scrap as Texas tee-off and tiny margins keep the tables deliciously tight.

    Quick summary

Low on mercy, high on drama: Round 9 served a run of one-goal finishes plus two statement wins that will matter when goal difference is checked next week.

    Key results (Round 9)

    – Claret and Booze 2–1 Murder on Zidane’s Floor — Claret and Booze grab the narrow local win and a timely confidence boost.
    – Texas Tumbleweeds 4–1 BullsEye United — A statement away victory that vaults Texas up the table and leaves BullsEye in trouble.
    – Scally Can Wait FC 3–2 Bayern Neverlosen; Grater Than You FC 3–1 Dad’s Favourite Son; Samchester United 2–2 Leafs over Bolts United; Wythenshawe Warriors AFC 3–2 Withington — a mix of thriller results and shared points that keep mid-table positions fluid.

    Division 1 results and commentary

    – Shut the FaCup FC 4–1 Stickylemon FC; Derby Cockney Rams FC 4–4 Ancoat Lionesses; Leeds the League 3–2 Danchester City; Getthatbusout FC 4–2 Gunners; Goodwin Wanderers 1–3 Flipping Del; AFC Dave 3–3 Bumfun FC — Round 9 in Division 1 served up goals, twists and a couple of results that matter for the top and the bottom.
    – Top-of-table drama — Leeds the League’s narrow win over Danchester City keeps the pressure on the leaders and explains why the top two are separated by a single point; that 3–2 result is the kind of late-edged victory that reshuffles confidence if not points.
    – High-scoring shocks — Derby Cockney Rams FC’s 4–4 draw and Getthatbusout FC’s 4–2 win show the defence-first narrative in the Premier slate doesn’t always apply here; goal difference and morale swings from big-score games will ripple through the chasing pack.
    – Survival and mid-table churn — Shut the FaCup FC’s comfortable 4–1 win and AFC Dave’s 3–3 draw help explain the upward and downward movement in the Division 1 table after Round 9; teams around the middle will be circling next fixtures as must-win opportunities.

    Table impact and movements

    – Division 1: Danchester City remain top on **18 pts** with Leeds the League one point back on **17 pts**; the top six are separated by four points, making every fixture crucial.
    – Division 2: Bayern Neverlosen lead on **19 pts**, Wythenshawe sit on **18 pts** and Scally Can Wait FC are close on **17 pts**; Texas’s 4–1 win pushed them up five places to **5th** and materially improved their goal difference.
    – Several clubs gained multiple places while others fell three spots after Round 9, underlining how tight promotion and survival races are.

    Rob-style closing line

Round 9 gave us small moments with big consequences — Claret and Booze take the local bragging rights, Texas made a statement on goal difference, the Division 1 fireworks reshuffled mid-table mood, and both divisions remain gloriously, maddeningly tight.

  10. Round 9 match ups are posted on Current Round. Its going to be a tight round with heavy favourites in Brighton, Liverpool and Arsenal. Most games will be decided by the results at Everton and Leeds. Only Claret and Booze are already guaranteed a point and can make it all 3 if Man City beat Brentford.

  11. Season low goal total as Liverpool’s crown slips at Palace….

In Round 7 we only manage a total of 31 goals which is a new season low record (previously 54 in Round 6!). It was a tough week, as Liverpool lose their 100% record at Crystal Palace; Chelsea lose at the Bridge to Brighton and Wolves gain their first point of the season at Spurs. I don’t say this often but thankfully Arsenal scored two late goals at Newcastle. Nearly every team now sit below 50% for total correct predictions in the Hasina Championship.

Samchester United Downs Claret and Booze….

Samchester United were the only team to get 6 points from both games this weekend and move up four places in Division 2. Their opponents fall down the league by 4 places.

Neverlosen beaten by 2 helpings of Frankie & Beans….

Bayern Neverlosen made it 7 unbeaten in 7 games, but they can’t dispatch Frankie & Beans twice and finally lose in Round 8 by a decisive 3-1 margin. Headline writers around the world mourn as a classic pun opportunity finally bites the dust.

  12. Round 7 & 8 Preview

Games at Brentford, Forest, Leeds and Villa will be decisive this weekend.

26 BHPL Games played by Monday and not one of them has matched predictions so best of luck all!!

  13. Round 6 Review

    Not half good?…

It did prove to be a tricky weekend as we only score 54 goals or just over 2 each on average and the lowest weekly total so far. This brings our overall prediction average to under 50% for the first time this season, which is territory we are very used to. If you see your team name in the top half of the Hasina Championship you are still scoring more than you are missing and special mention to Wythenshawe Warriors AFC who go outright top on 61.8%.

Well done to Samchester United and Scally Can Wait FC who both managed to score 4 goals and win their games!

    Goodwin Wanderers still wondering….

Bottom of Division 1 side Goodwin Wanderers go down 3-2 at home to table-toppers Danchester City and leave their fans wondering where their first win might be. Overall Division 1 is very tight with only 2 points between 3rd and 11th!

    Are Neverlosen Neverlosen?…

Despite facing an uphill task this weekend – playing away with matched predictions – Neverlosen maintain the League’s only unbeaten record. But they will be looking over their shoulders in Division 2, as the next 3 teams all record wins this weekend to close the gap.

  14. Round 6 Preview

A tricky week with a lot of uncertainty about who will win nearly every game. Chelsea to win at Old Trafford in our most favoured result and the only one which made it above 80%.

There was only one game where all the predictions matched and whilst they will still be top of Division 2 come Sunday night, we know that Bayern Neverlosen can at best achieve a draw away at Grater Than You FC.

  15. Round 4 & 5 Review

    It’s a simple game….

I can’t believe this is the 3rd year of the Bell House Premier League and it took that long for someone to realise that the secret to success was to name your side “Neverlosen”. Their 100% start to the season sees the new boys open up a 5 point lead at the top of Division 2 and also sit as joint leaders of the Hasina Championship with 64.3%.

    From Zero to Hero(well mid-table side anyway)….

BullsEye United went into the weekend bottom of Division 2 without a point and end it with 6 points and a mid-table spot. The two sides at the foot of Divison 2 now are Grater Than You FC and Samchester United who were the only two teams that lost both their matches this weekend.

    It’s not over till it’s over….

Hats off to Wythenshawe Warriors AFC this weekend who scored 10 goals including a maximum 6 goal return in their home game! 3 of those goals came from injury time goals that changed results. They join their opponents Murder on Zidanes’ Floor and Bayern Neverlosen at the top of the Hasina Championship.

  16. Round 4 and Round 5 latest scores available…

With tomorrow having a meaningless Liverpool game final results will be decided by Man City v Man United.

Only Bayern Neverlosen have already secured 6 points and keep their 100% record.

Stickylemon FC are still chasing a 6-point haul in Division 1 (against me!). Whilst in Division 2, BullsEye United, Leafs over Bolts United and Wythenshawe Warriors AFC could still claim 2 wins!

Wythenshawe Warriors AFC need a Man City win to record a perfect 6 goal game in Round 4, but oddly enough they would only finish with 4 points. If Man City lose or draw, they will claim all 6 points!

  17. Double Header Preview

    Round 4
Leeds at Fulham will be critical in determining the Division 1 results (and how good my weekend is!!). It will also be an important game for Division 2, but so also will Sunderland at Palace.

    Round 5
The games at Bournemouth and at Everton will likely decide who takes the points in this Round. BullsEye United and Derby Cockney Rams FC guaranteed at least a point as they match predictions with their visiting opponents.

    1. **Correction**

Before my inbox gets inundated with complaints, I have corrected the Round 5 Match Prediction %s where for Arsenal v Forest and Man City v Man United, I had repeated the Prediction %s from Round 4!

      Thanks to me for noticing!

  18. Round 3 Headlines

It’s Deja vue all over again….

Feels like last season again, as Spurs and Man City both lose and catch out nearly everyone. Only Dave predicted the Brighton win which put the icing on the cake of a 3-1 win for Bayern Neverlosen against Dad’s Favourite Son.

    3 for 3….

Just 3 teams have won the first 3 games of the season.

In Division 1, just Danchester City have a 100% record and take an early 2-point lead into the international break.

In Division 2, both Murder on Zidane’s Floor and Bayern Neverlosen maintain maximum returns and are 3 points clear of Withington in 3rd.

    BullsEye off target….

Tough start to the season for new side BullsEye United, as they lose their 3rd game in a row by a single goal. They are now the only side without a point.

  19. Round 3 Preview – See details on Current Round Tab

For the first time this season we have agreed 100% on a prediction, with nobody thinking that Fulham will pick up a point at Chelsea.

Bad news for Arsenal’s title hopes with 85% of Home teams going for Liverpool.

Only Danchester City and Flipping Del have matched all of their predictions. The rest of the games look like they will be “decided” by Wolves v Everton and Sunderland V Brentford.

  20. Round 2 Headlines

    D-Day in Division 1?….

Danchester City and Derby Cockney Rams FC both win away from home and set the early pace in Division 1.

    Another victim 4 Murder….

Murder on Zidane’s Floor score 4 for the second week in a row as this time they dispatch Frankie & Beans 4-2 at home. Hot on their tracks though are Bayern Neverlosen and Scally Can Wait FC, who both win away and maintain their 100% records in Division 2.

    Pointless start….

4 teams yet to get off the mark after the first 2 games. Luckily there is still time to beat the August transfer deadline and make some changes, before their respective Chairmen start giving out the dreaded votes of confidence.

  21. Round 1 Review

Remember the answer to this future pub quiz question…

What team led the Bell House Premier League First Division without having played any of the sides below them?
The answer is AFC Dave as they win the first ever Interdivision game 3-0 against Samchester United and lead the table on goal difference.

    Three goals enough….

Three goals guaranteed you at least a point this round unless you were the unfortunate Grater Than You FC who lost 4-3 away at joint high scoring Wythenshawe Warriors AFC.

    Early doors….

Two early to read anything into form or league position. However, it would be rude not to comment on Samchester United not scoring a single goal this weekend. I’m sure its just a blip, but having said that, Sam let me know who you are going for next week 😉.

  22. Latest results updated with half-time scores.

Congratulations to Murder on Zidane’s Floor who score 4 without reply.

Danchester City and Derby Cockney Rams FC also guarantee wins by half-time.

Other results still in the balance…

  23. Round 1 Preview

Predictions are in and we have a few clear favourites; Chelsea, Spurs and Man City. Clearly winning the last two trophies in English Football is not enough for us to back Palace against the “World Champions” 😂.

Looks like most of our games will be decided by Villa v Newcastle and Sunderland v West Ham.

Just one game, Withington v BullsEye United, where predictions are matched up completely. Surprisingly there is one game, Dad’s Favourite Son v Murder on Zidane’s Floor, where every match has been predicted differently.
