Week 24 Review

The football gods wanted to make sure that Championship Sunday was as interesting as possible with the title race in both divisions still open, only two of the teams who will fill the top 4 spaces in Division 1 known and no one in Division 2 guaranteed a promotion spot. Finally, no team has yet been relegated from Division 1 and last spot in Division 2 remains to be claimed!

Division 1

Battle at the Top

Shut the FaCup FC had a nine point lead with 4 games to go and were heavily fancied to have tied up the title before the final week of the season, but shock defeats to the bottom 2 sides in the last 2 weeks have left them unable to fully shake off Leafs Over Bolts United whose draw against Getthatbusout FC leaves them 6 points behind and gives them an outside chance of stealing the title on Sunday!

A draw was not enough to keep Scally Can Wait FC in the race for the top spot but they do have a six point cushion from 5th so a single point on Sunday will be enough to secure a top 4 spot.

Danchester City are currently fourth after also drawing and need a win on Sunday to lock in at least fourth!

If either or both of these two sides slip up, Derby Cockney Rams FC, AFC Dave and Gunners could claim a prize by winning both games on Sunday!

Relegation will go to the wire!

Hats off to HeyCroft03 FC who won 3-1 away at Shut the FaCup FC to keep their survival chances alive! They are still bottom and 5 points from safety, but students of the game will remember that on the final day of the Winter Season, HeyCroft03 FC won twice and went from 9th to 4th. No chance for a prize this time, but relegation rivals beware!!

Winter Season Champions Flipping Del remain second bottom and hot favourites to go down as they lost 3-1 at home to AFC Dave. They are going to need 6 points on Sunday to save themselves!

Even if the bottom 2 do succumb on Sunday, two more from Wythenshawe Warriors, Getthatbusout FC, BullsEye United and Ancoat Lionesses will join them – they all drew this weekend to leave them all in the mix!

Division 2

Title and Promotion still wide open

Bayern Neverlosen have been top of Division 2 since Round 4 on January 25th! However, after losing at bottom side Leeds the League 4-2 this weekend they go into Championship Sunday just 3 points ahead of Stickylemon FC and Samchester United!

We’ve been taking about the title, but the cold reality for the top sides is that no one has even guaranteed a top 4 finish and realistically we have the top 8 teams fighting for the promotion places!

Last place still up for grabs!

The bottom 5 could all come bottom after the dust settles next week, but the two favourites for that ignominy remain the bottom 2, Leeds the League and Claret and Booze!

Hasina Championship

275 predictions made, 11 left for us all next week. No change in the top 4 but 3 of them only scored 1 this week, whilst Scally Can Wait FC in 4th scored 3 goals and have a cushion of 3 correct predictions from 5th as we head into Championship Sunday!

As there are 11 predictions to be made on Sunday, the top 16 could as of this moment sneak into the top 4 but given realistic prediction gaps our prize winners are unlikely to come from outside of the current top 7 sides!

*Round 19 Review*

Arsenal lose and Spurs still in bottom 3 – read on if you care about anything else!

*Draw Mania sweeps the league – maybe in search of defences?*

Pretty big goal fest this week, as scoring 4 goals did not guarantee you a win, but the two teams that did score 5 both won. Seven draws in total including four 4-4 draws!

*Division 1*

*Shut the FaCup FC “draw” closer to the title!*

At the top Shut the FaCup FC drew 4-4, but thanks to Leaf Over Bolts United win over 2nd placed Scally Can Wait FC, they go 6 points clear with 7 to play!

*Division 2*

*Anything one can do, two can do too!*

Division 2 looked at Division 1’s draw fest and said “we can do that”.

Leaders Bayern Neverlosen broke ranks and did actually win, while the chasing pack of Bumfun FC, Samchester United and Murder on Zidane’s Floor all drew, which is a bold strategy when trying to catch the leader!

Withington and Texas Tumbleweeds were the only ones brave enough to try winning and close in on the top 4.

*Hasina Championship*

*Can anyone be just half wrong?*

Seven rounds to go and we don’t have a team above 50%. The top 4 have a 4 goal gap from 5th placed Texas Tumbleweeds! Doesn’t sound like much but with only seven rounds left, a team will need to be consistently accurate to catch the top 4!

Hi Dad, for the double header I want my home game to be switched to a win for the other team that I did not pick.

*Round 18 Review*

Fairly high scoring as most results come in as expected!

*Division 1 Update*

Shut the FaCup FC extend their lead at the top to 4 points as they win 4-2 against Wythenshawe Warriors AFC and none of the next 4 can do better than a point! However, those 5 teams have a 5 point gap from 6th placed BullsEye United – can they or a team below them make a push for glory in the last 8 games?

No change in the bottom 4 sides, but Ancoat Lionesses close in on safety with a win! Flipping Del beat Heycroft03 FC, who are looking doomed to relegation, but even Flipping Del, the current Div 1 champions have to continue this revival if they are to survive this season.

*Division 2 Update*

Bayern Neverlosen stay top after drawing at 3rd placed Murder on Zidane’s Floor. Murder slip to 4th as Samchester United leapfrog them thanks to a 4-2 win at bottom side Leeds the League!

Still very tight for promotion with at least the top 10 still hoping for a top 4 finish if the last 8 games go well.

Round 16 & 17 Double Header Review

Double Header weekend in the bag and only nine league games left when we return on April 11 after a prolonged break for international and FA Cup weekends!

Division 1

Double Double Top??

Shut the FaCup FC took the bragging rights and pole position in the league as they won both legs of the top of the table double header against Danchester City!

Insult was added to injury as Danchester City slip to 3rd, thanks to another 6 point return, this time by Scally Can Wait FC who beat our reigning Winter Champions Flipping Del home and away!

Heycroft03 FC find Bolts blocking their escape route!

Bottom side Heycroft03 FC would have loved to start a climb out of the relegation zone but instead could only pick up one point as they found a determined Leafs side, who ensured that any potential exit door stayed firmly bolted!!

Leafs over Bolts United move into 4th spot replacing Gunners who could only pick up one point against Ancoat Lionesses. Whilst the Lionesses remain in the bottom four, they were the only team in the relegation zone to close the gap on 9th place!

Division 2

All square in 1v3 clash, but Bumfun close gap on leaders!

Leaders Bayern Neverlosen and 3rd placed Texas Tumbleweeds fought out 2 draws, which keeps things tight at the top!

Bumfun share the spoils with Div 1 BullsEye United as they record a win a piece, but three points puts them just 3 behind leaders Bayern!

6 Point Returns for promotion hopefuls!

Both Murder on Zidane’s Floor and Samchester United won both games in their double headers against Goodwin Wanderers and Withington respectively! This moved them up 4 and 5 places into the promotion spots!

Hasina Championship

An impressive 7 goal return including a maximum 5 goal away haul for Scally Can Wait FC sees them move into second place of the Hasina Championship replacing Gunners who only managed 1 goal and slip to 4th spot.

*Round 15 Review*

Only 5 games in our 6 premier league fixtures this weekend with no less than 3 0-0 draws! 2 of those goals came in the shock at Anfield as Liverpool drew with Spurs and home teams scored 0 goals as a result!

*Division 1*

*Top 5 fight for Top 4 spots…*

After another round of matches, the top 5 were unbeaten and have opened up a 6 point gap from 6th place! Still plenty of games to go but at the moment those 5 teams look like shooting it out for the 4 prize winning spots.

*Division 2*

*Mother’s Day Gift…*

Samchester United manager Sam was generous this year as he gifted his Mums team Goodwin Wanderers a 3-1 away win on Mothers Day!

Samchester United fell 5 places to 9th allowing Withington to climb into the top 4!

*Classic 12 pointers?…*

In this weeks double header Division 1 leaders Danchester City face 2nd place Shut the FaCup FC. 12 point swing up for grabs in what could be a title decider!!

Similarly in Division 2, 1st place Bayern Neverlosen face a double header against 3rd place Texas Tumbleweeds. Another crucial match in deciding who will take home the cash in May!

Round 13 & 14 Review

Decidedly average week as only two teams manage 4 goals across both rounds.

Boring, Boring Div 1…..

2 more games on the docket and nobody goes up or down amongst the top 9 in Division 1. Some minor jostling for position in the relegation places! Somebody needs to make their move!

Exciting, Exciting Div 2…..

Bumfun FC and Dad’s Favourite Son each win both of their games as Div 2 remains too close to call. 6 points between 4th place and 13th place at the bottom.

Leeds the League sued for libel

Bottom of Division 2 side Leeds the League face legal challenge over misleading name! Rumored to be considering changing it to “You’ve got to be f’ing kidding me”.

Round 12 Review

No real surprises this week so some high scoring matches!

Division 1

What was he thinking!!!

Wythenshawe Warriors AFC hit maximum 5 away from home and win 5-4 at Ancoat Lionesses! Top marks Jack for prediction performance but picking the week you play Jenny – not smart!!!! 😂

Leaders stutter but still have daylight

League leaders Danchester City beaten by Leaf Over Bolts United, but stay top on goal difference as Shut the FaCup FC draw against BullsEye United. Scally Can Wait FC take advantage and close gap to 4 points with a 5-2 win!

Division 2

Greater than everyone!!

Grater Than You FC became the first team in the Spring Season and only the 3rd overall to score 6, as they beat Murder on Zidane’s Floor 6-4!

No draws but table still tight!

6 Division 2 games without a single draw, but despite that only 6 points separate 10 sides! Bayern Neverlosen win again and although it’s early to say it, Division 1 must be in touching distance as they extend their lead over 5th to 11 points!

Rob G

Round 10 & 11 Review

Bumfun FC prove Div 2 is tight as ****holes

Fresh from their FA Cup triumph Bumfun FC pick up 6 points at the weekend and move up an incredible 9 places in Division 2 to sit in 2nd place!

Top 4 in Division 1 have daylight from pack….

Danchester City pick up 4 points this weekend and move ahead of Shut the FA Cup FC who remain unbeaten after 2 draws! The top 4 have a 4 point cushion over 5th place so go into the weekend fixtures safe in the knowledge they will be top 4 next week!

….whilst Division 2 teams can’t be separated

Although Bayern Neverlosen extend their lead at the top to 8 points, the rest of Division 2 are in a dogfight. No less than 7 teams are on 15 points and only 5 points separate 2nd and 12th place!

Gunners losing race to the bottom??

In the Hasina Championship, another relatively low scoring double header weekend means that for the first time all season no team is sitting above 50% success rate!

However, Gunners scored 6 this weekend and although not the highest return of the weekend, it was enough for them to take over at the top of the table from Shut the FaCup FC.

Round 7 and 8 Review

Mixed goal scoring fortunes in double header weekend

Round 7 games proved tricky with only 42 goals scored. Only a handful of rounds since August have returned lower totals. However Round 8 set a new season long record with 105 goals!

League leaders see Twenty Twenty!

Fantastic starts by Division 1 leaders Shut the FaCup FC and Division 2 leaders Bayern Neverlosen. Both teams unbeaten in 8 games and both on 20 points! However, whilst in Division 1 2nd place Danchester City have 19 points, Bayern Neverlosen have an 8 point gap over Murder on Zidane’s Floor!

4 teams score “touchdowns”

Danchester City, Scally Can Wait FC, Bumfun FC and Frankie & Beans pick up home and away wins this Super Bowl weekend and just like a touchdown score 6 points!

10 “Fivers” the reward for Goal fest in Round 8….

Despite a record haul of 105 goals in Round 8, no home team scored a maximum 6 goals. However 10 teams chalked up 5 goals!

*Round 6 Review*

Man City stunned in 2nd half – only Dads Favourite Son and Texas Tumbleweeds predicted the draw in the bonus home fixture!

*Division 1*

Champions lose again as Bolts nearly connect with a maximum score!

Flipping Del slow start as reigning champions continues as they lose 5-3 to Leafs over Bolts United. Bolts denied a maximum by Spurs draw. Flipping Del stay bottom and are already 5 points from safety!

*Scally Can Wait but don’t…*

Scally Can Wait FC score a maximum 5 away from home against Derby Cockney Rams FC, taking their opponents 5th place!

*Division 2*

*4-3 score of the day in Div 2*

4 of the 6 games in Division 2 ended 4-3, with 2 home winners and 2 away winners!

*It’s deja vue all over again*

One of the 4-3 winners was Bayern Neverlosen! After 6 games they are unbeaten on 16 points and have a 6 point cushion to 2nd place. In the Winter Season they had exactly the same record and ended the season 6th!

*Texas Tumbleweeds blow through division*

Tottenham 2-2 draw gave Texas Tumbleweeds a 4-3 win over Murder on Zidane’s Floor and the win sees them storm up the table from 7th to 2nd!

*Potter Bros in the hunt!*

Manager Brothers Jason and Gary are battling for the title in all competitions!

In the top 4 in their respective Spring divisions, they are also both in the top 4 of the Hasina Championship!

*Round 3 Review*

*Must do better!*

A terrible week as we manage just 16 goals out of 143 attempts!! Basically not the week which shows why this league is widely recognised as the most exciting in the world! We are definitely putting next years TV deal at risk and must improve!

*We would do better tossing a coin!*

Shut the FaCup FC score 1 and stay top of the Hasina Championship and are the only team above 50%!!

*Division 1*

Another Double?

Last year Getthatbusout FC won the Spring title and the Hasina Championship. Shut the FaCup FC are making an early push to repeat the feat as they are top of Division 1 and the only team with a 100% record.

*Is it Div 2 in disguise!*

Placed 2-4 in the early Div 1 table are filled by newly promoted sides; all making impressive starts to life in the top flight!

*2 goal massacre*

In Division 2, Samchester United and Withington both managed 2 goals and had the biggest wins of the week, both beating their hosts 2-0.

Samchester United go top of the table level on points with Bayern Neverlosen!

Winter Season Final Round

Tough set of games to wrap up the winter season. Round 26 included 5 Premier League draws, and we only scored 26 goals which was our lowest return for the season.

Division 1

Flipping Del Manchester City!!

Danchester City led Division 1 since August, but on the final afternoon they needed a Manchester City win to prevent Flipping Del overtaking them. However, Sunderland continue to perform above expectation and held the sky blues 0-0 to give Flipping Del the Winter Div 1 Title.

Special mention for Flipping Del who won the title at their first attempt since promotion last year.

Last Day Miracle!

Most teams going into the last day of the season in the relegation zone and facing a top 4 side hope to scrape through to survival. But the lesson for us all from Heycroft03 FC is to dream big. Not only did Heycroft03 FC claim all 6 points in the double header, they moved ahead of their opponent and ended up sneaking into 4th spot and prize money!

Lionesses escape relegation by a whisker

With Heycroft03 FC leaping up the table, there had to be one team to replace them in the bottom 4.

Bumfun FC caught Ancoat Lionesses points total but the Lionesses stay up with a superior goal difference condemning Bumfun FC to a Division 2 return. They are joined by Leeds the League, Stickylemon FC and Goodwin Wanderers!

Division 2

Top 2 secure comfortable promotion

No similar Div 1 drama for the last day Div 2 leaders Leafs over Bolts United. Four points from their double header maintained their 3 point cushion over Scally Can Wait FC who had to settle for 2nd place.

Are you Villa in disguise?

BullsEye FC only had promotion in their sights as they solidly defeated Murder on Zidane’s Floor 7-1 on aggregate over the two double header games. A 6 point return for BullsEye United moved them from 5th to 3rd and marked a turn around from the beginning of the season when they were only team who were pointless after 3 games! Are you Villa in disguise?

No more Manchester Derby’s?

Wythenshawe Warriors AFC slip to 4th place but are promoted and it’s their local rivals Withington who miss out on the last day slipping from 4th to 5th place. (Both teams named after suburbs of Manchester).

Spoon awarded but pride restored

Dad’s Favourite Son ended the Winter Season bottom of Division 2 but only on goal difference as they picked up 6 points on the final round. Like everyone else they can forget the Winter season and focus on the Spring season with a clean slate!

*Round 24 Review*

Not a great week for goals with Burnley plus Leeds drawing and Spurs winning all being surprise results for us.

*Division 1*

Danchester City went down 3-2 at home and after a draw for Flipping Del go into the final double header round with a 2 point cushion.

Flipping Dels double header is against 3rd placed Derby Cockney Rams who will also have the title in sight if Danchester City slip up.

Outside title chances still there for Shut the FaCup FC, Getthatbusout FC and Gunners.

All the above teams will want a top 4 finish, but mathematically the top 10 could still make a push for top 4 with 6 points still up for grabs.

At the bottom, Stickylemon need all 6 points and bad results for the 3 teams ahead of them to avoid relegation. The remaining two spots likely to be filled by 2 of those 3 teams being; Leeds the League, HeyCroft03 FC and Bumfun FC, but all teams up to 4th placed Shut the FACup FC could go down.

*Division 2*

With promotion secured, Leafs over Bolts United need one win from their double header against Withington to secure the title. Scally Can Wait FC, Wythenshawe Warriors AFC and Withington could steal the title and all have promotion in their hands, but BullsEye United and Bayern Neverlosen are only 2 points off the pace, so can take advantage of any minor slip ups. If results go in their favour, Texas Tumbleweeds and Murder on Zidane’s Floor could still make it to Division 1 for the Spring Season!

*Round 24 Preview*

*Division 1*

Top 4 finish secured if Danchester City win at home against lowly 11th placed Leeds the League.

Stickylemon FC relegated unless they beat 3rd placed visitors Shut the FaCup FC.

Goodwin Wanderers relegated if they lose away at 2nd placed Flipping Del.

*Division 2*

Leafs over Bolts United promoted if they win at home against 9th placed Samchester United.

*Round 23 Review*

Website fully updated….

Burnley’s last minute goal stopped us from setting another goal scoring record as Arsenal, City and Villa win as we expected!

*Division 1 Review*

*Mann Overboard??*

We haven’t lost him yet, but Division 1 safety for Lee Mann looks out of reach as Stickylemon FC lose 3-2. To make it worse it was Mrs Mann and AFC Dave that he lost to – feels very Jack and Rose from Titanic!

*Point for City, but challengers close gap*

An away draw is always a good result, but Danchester City will travel home from Gunners with their nerves shot, as the next three teams in the table all win to close the gap.

*Mid-table shuffle*

Wins for AFC Dave and Ancoat Lionesses move them above Gunners and Heycroft03 FC in the jostle for mid-table. Both victors now eyeing an outside chance of a top 4 finish whilst Gunners and Heycroft03 FC need to be wary of the relegation zone!

*Division 2 Review*

*League leaders melt?*

Grater Than You FC are making a cheesy surge with 7 points from 9 and this time it was the league leaders who melted. They are just 3 points clear of 2nd place now!

*Promotion wide open*

Withington pick up a point and slide into 4th spot with 34 points. But 8th place Murder on Zidanes Floor have 31 points so still have an eye on Division 1 with 3 games to go. In between them are Bayern Neverlosen, Texas Tumbleweeds and BullsEye United who are also in the mix for glory!

*Round 22 Review*

*High scoring week breaks previous best by 1 goal.*

The first 5 PL games this week all went as the majority of us predicted with wins for Chelsea, Fulham, Liverpool, City and Arsenal. However, only 2 teams correctly predicted the Leeds v Brentford draw, but those two goals were vital to set a new season record score of 101 goals beating the previous best by just 1 goal.

It’s good news for the Hasina Championship standings, where Shut the FACup FC remain top, one clear of Gunners!

*Division 1 Review*

*Stickylemon FC no longer stuck on bottom, but escape looks sticky!*

Stickylemon FC were held at home by Gunners and one point was enough for them to climb above Goodwin Wanderers who lost to league leaders Danchester City. However, relegation for both sides looks increasingly likely as they are both 7 points from safety with 4 games to play!

*Bumfun overflows but recovery possible!*

Bumfun FC were the only team to score maximum goals this week as they beat Heycroft03 FC 6-4. They are still in the bottom 4, but with only 5 points between 4th placed Shut the FACup FC and 11th placed Bumfun FC, the run up to Christmas is going to be squeaky bum time for many!

*No challengers for Danchester City?*

Nobody else seems to be trying to win the title as the league leaders were the only side in the top 8 to win. They are now 5 points clear with 4 to play.

*Division 2 review*

*Leafs over Bolts United plan relaxing Xmas!*

Just like Santa, Leafs Over Bolts United want to have everything wrapped up before Xmas day! With another win chalked up at the weekend they extend their lead at the top to 6 points and if results go their way this weekend they could be Division 2 champions before the elves load the sleigh (alright champions barring an unprecedented goal difference reversal)

*8 teams seek lift off to top flight*

With just 4 games to go, the race heats up for the 4 spots that secure Division 1 Football in the Spring(and cold hard cash)!! Leafs over Bolts United look certain to be one of the four teams, but after that there are only 6 points separating 2nd and 8th.

*All I don’t want for Xmas is a wooden spoon!*

The bottom 5 teams look sufficiently adrift of the promotion race to be focused on next season, but before that, they need to summon up the pride to avoid the wooden spoon award! (PS there is no league wooden spoon, but feel free to take one from your own kitchen)!

*Round 20 and 21 Review*

December began with a double header and a chance for teams to get 6 points and set themselves up for the vital run in. Division 1 stayed tight with no one getting all 6 points but in Division 2, 3 teams got 6 points and the reward for each of them was a place in the top 3, with just 5 games to go.

*Division 2*

*Are Leafs blooming ready?….*

2 wins for Leafs Over Bolts United leave them 8 points clear of 5th place and 3 wins away from guaranteeing Division 1 Football in the New Year.

Another side with an impressive run into December are Scally Can Wait FC. 3 wins on the bounce and only 1 defeat in the last eight games has moved them up to 2nd place and just 3 back from the leaders.

The final big weekend winners were Wythenshawe Warriors AFC whose six point return moved them from 7th place to 3rd!

*Division 1*

This division remains incredibly tight with nobody making any major moves.

*Champagne still on ice?….*

Danchester City shared 3 points a piece this weekend with bottom of the table Stickylemon FC. They remain in first place where they have been since August 24th. Can they keep their nerve and hold off a bevy of teams who are circling below them?

*7 teams, 6 points, 5 games, 4 prizes….*

With 5 games to go, only 6 points separate the top 7 teams. Christmas is going to be exciting…

*Lions sink teeth into Bumfun at the Bottom*

Ancoat Lionesses pick up 4 points in their two matches against Bumfun FC and once more climb out of the relegation zone. Their opponents drop one spot to 11th and Leeds the League are also now in the relegation zone after picking up just 1 point against Heycroft03 FC. However, with only 6 points between 3rd place and the drop zone in 10th place, Christmas is going to be nail biting!

*Hasina Championship*

Only the top four teams have managed to predict more games correctly than incorrectly this season!

Round 19 Review

A really tough round to score goals with some upset PL results. In fact it was our 2nd lowest scoring round with only 35 goals in total.

Division 1

Del Flips over Rams, but City stay top

The top of the table clash between Flipping Del and Danchester City ended 1-1. Flipping Del move ahead of Derby Cockney Rams FC who lost away at Gunners, who were the only team to score 3 across the league!

Wanderers claw Lionesses back into bottom 4.

A 2-1 home win for Goodwin Wanderers over Ancoat Lionesses means the visitors are straight back into the relegation zone after just a one round respite. Wanderers win also leaves Stickylemon FC in a sticky situation at the bottom of the table – 7 points from safety with 7 games to play!

Division 2

Scally not waiting and Tumbleweeds Roll on

Winning by 2-1, both Scally Can Wait FC and Texas Tumbleweeds moved up 3 places into the top 4. Wythenshawe Warriors AFC fell 3 places as they fell 2-1 to Samchester United (despite Emile Heskey).

Hasina Championship

Gunners hat-trick moves them into 3rd place as most teams struggle to get more than 1.

*Round 18 Review*

*Div 1 Leaders held by Gunners, but outshoot rivals….*

Division 1 Leaders Danchester City were held to a 2-2 draw at home by Gunners, but still extend their lead by 1 point as 2nd and 3rd place Derby Cockney Rams FC and Getthatbusout FC both lose 3-2 at home. Flipping Del move into 3rd as they win away in the Inter-Div clash.

*Gunners make good point, but Lionesses roar past….*

Despite a creditable 2-2 draw at league leaders Danchester City, Gunners wake up this morning in the relegation zone thanks to Ancoat Lionesses’ 4-2 win against Leeds the League.

*Div 2 Leaders take Tumble as Bolts secure top spot….*

Bayern Neverlosen had a match to forget going down 4-1 at home against Texas Tumbleweeds. Gary could not have asked for a better response from his sides double defeat last weekend as they predicted every game successfully except Spurs v Fulham.

Leafs over Bolts United took advantage at the top, as they triumphed 2-1 against Grater Than You FC, to move back to the Div 2 summit.

Murder on Zidane’s Floor move into Top 4 at the expense of their opponents Scally Can Wait FC after a comfortable 3-1 win.

Round 16 and 17 Review

Amorim surely will be Amorout after a loss at home to ten man Everton; Arne Slot is more like Arne Lost as Liverpool can’t breach the Sean Dyche at Anfield; and Leeds must be getting close to telling Daniel to Farke off as they go down at home to a resurgent Villa.

Honors even…except where they weren’t

Most of our match ups in this week’s double header games saw the points shared but three teams came out on top.

Thanksgiving cancelled in Houston….

In Division 2, Grater Than You FC finally delivered on their names promise as they were the only team in Division 2 to win both games and collect all 6 points. Their opponents were Texas Tumbleweeds who fell 5 places in the league and who will be replacing Turkey at Thanksgiving with a Turkey Trot round the training ground.

Heycroft taught lesson… (NB it’s a school)

In Division 1, it was HeyCroft03 FC who were schooled in the art of Football as AFC Dave delivered a 6 point masterclass and swapped places in the league with their opponents.

Shut the FACup FC silence doubters….

Shut the FaCup FC collected 4 points against Dads Favourite Son and their top score of 8 goals for the weekend, propelled them to the top of the Hasina Championship.

Sunderland Spoil Prediction Clean Sweep

Round 15 was the 4th highest scoring round so far, with our favourite prediction for each game being correct, except for Sunderland v Arsenal. Sunderland’s shock season continues and their draw against top of the table Arsenal was only predicted by Wythenshawe Warriors AFC. However, that proved to be only a consolation goal as they went down 4-3 at home against Texas Tumbleweeds.

Top 3 gap narrows, gulf to bottom widens…

Division 1 Leaders Danchester City lose 4-2 at home to 3rd placed Getthatbusout FC and now only have a 1 point cushion at the top from both their opponents and 2nd placed Derby Cockney Rams FC. DCR were the Round’s top scorers as they swept past bottom side Goodwin Wanderers 5-2.

Bayern Back to top as Leaf’s stumble

Bayern Neverlosen return to the top of Division 2, with a 3-1 home win over BullsEye United. Previous leaders Leaf over Bolts United were held 2-2 at home by Bumfun FC in the Inter-Division clash.

Pick any 2 from 6..

It’s a lottery for the remaining 2 promotion spots in Division 2 as there is only one point separating 3rd and 8th place in Division 2. Every point between now and the end of the season will be vital as teams hunt the jackpot of a top 4 finish.

Round 13/14 Double Header

Hammers deal blow to Newcastle, United lose way in Forest and Spurs feeling blue…

Most games went as the majority of us predicted but West Hams 2nd win of the season, United’s draw at Forest and Tottenham’s defeat at home to Chelsea bucked that trend. Most of us even managed to predict Liverpool’s first win since records began.

Heycroft03 FC outshoot Gunners…

Heycroft03 FC were the only team to take full advantage of a double header weekend as they win 3-2 twice at home and away against Gunners. The wins move them up 4 places out of the relegation zone to 7th and above their opponents who slide 3 places to 8th.

It’s Status Quo at the top of the Charts….

It had all the signs of being a decisive weekend at the top of Division 1, as 1st met 2nd and 3rd met 4th, but 4 home wins later and its a stalemate that probably only puts a smile on Danchester City’s face, as they keep their 4 point lead at the top.

and Status Quo at the bottom of the Charts….

The inter-Division match paired two teams rooted at the bottom of their respective Divisions and they desperately tried to underscore each other as they fought out two 1-1 draws which, to borrow a classic cliche, did neither of them any favours!

Leafs uber Alles?….

Leafs over Bolts United started the weekend in 3rd place in Division 2, but thanks to picking up 4 points against 2nd placed Wythenshawe Warriors they have knocked Bayern Neverlosen from top spot in Division 2 for the first time since Round 4.

The once undefeatable Bayern only picked up one point in the double header and also suffered the biggest loss of the weekend; 5-1 away at Claret and Booze!

It’s 6 games undefeated now for Leafs over Bolts United and the question is are the Leafs evergreen or will they fall down before the Winter season ends?

Round 12 Review

City and Chelsea defeats keep scores low…

Nobody had Sunderland beating Chelsea and only Goodwin Wanderers and Stickylemon FC had predicted a Villa win over City. Bottom of Division 1 side, Goodwin Wanderers, top scored this week with 5 goals and close the gap on 2nd bottom Stickylemon FC, who despite predicting Villa’s win, still came unstuck as they lost 3-2 at Getthatbusout FC.

Stable table….

In Division 1, no changes in the top 5 as the top 3 sides all win and 4th and 5th draw with each other.

In Division 2, top side Bayern Neverlosen lose 4-1 to Leafs over Bolts United who climb 4 spots to go 3rd but 2nd side Wythenshawe Warriors AFC draw 2-2 at Grater than You FC and stay 2nd.

Crucial Halfway games…

As we reach the halfway point of the Winter Season, we have another double header weekend where the same sides meet home and away!

In Division 1 the top 2 Danchester City and Derby Cockney Rams FC meet home and away….title decider???

In Division 2 2nd placed Wythenshawe Warriors AFC play twice against 3rd placed Leaf over Bolts United.

Round 12 Review

City and Chelsea defeats keep scores low…

Nobody thought Sunderland would beat Chelsea and only Goodwin Wanderers and Stickylemon FC had predicted a Villa win over City.

Bottom of Division 1 side, Goodwin Wanderers, top scored this week with 5 goals and wander ever closer to 2nd bottom Stickylemon FC, who despite predicting Villa’s win, still came unstuck 3-2 at Getthatbusout FC.

Stable table….

In Division 1, no changes in the top 5 as the top 3 sides all win and 4th and 5th draw with each other. Danchester City maintain a very healthy 4 point lead at the top.

In Division 2, top side Bayern Neverlosen stay top despite their heavy 4-1 loss to Leafs over Bolts United who climb 4 spots to go 3rd. 2nd placed side Wythenshawe Warriors AFC draw 2-2 at Grater than You FC and stay 2nd.

Crucial Halfway games…

As we reach the halfway point of the Winter Season, we have another double header weekend where the same sides meet home and away!

In Division 1 the top 2 Danchester City and Derby Cockney Rams FC meet home and away….title deciding games???

In Division 2 2nd placed Wythenshawe Warriors AFC play twice against 3rd placed Leaf over Bolts United.

Round 4 & 5 Review

It’s a simple game….

I can’t believe this is the 3rd year of the Bell House Premier League and it took that long for someone to realise that the secret to success was to name your side “Neverlosen”. Their 100% start to the season sees the new boys open up a 5 point lead at the top of Division 2 and also sit as joint leaders of the Hasina Championship with 64.3%.

From Zero to Hero(well mid-table side anyway)….

BullsEye United went into the weekend bottom of Division 2 without a point and end it with 6 points and a mid-table spot. The two sides at the foot of Divison 2 now are Grater Than You FC and Samchester United who were the only two teams that lost both their matches this weekend.

It’s not over till it’s over….

Hats off to Wythenshawe Warriors AFC this weekend who scored 10 goals including a maximum 6 goal return in their home game! 3 of those goals came from injury time goals that changed results. They join their opponents Murder on Zidanes’ Floor and Bayern Neverlosen at the top of the Hasina Championship.
